Davis Family

The Andrew Davis Award

In 1978 a Year 10 student at Mount Lawley SHS, Andrew Davis, died during soccer training.

Two of Andrew's great passions were Art and Music and his parents donated a prize to be awarded to a student in each discipline who made a significant contribution.

The honour board was mislaid for some 20 years and was found in early 2012.

The Andrew Davis Award was re-instituted in 2012.

Efforts to contact the Davis family were undertaken through the P&C where one member, who went to school with Andrew's brother, put the family and the school together.

Early in 2013 Mr and Mrs Davis visited the school with their two sons, Neil and Stuart.

From 2013, the Andrew Davis Award will be presented by a member of the Davis family at the final Year 12 assembly.
