Saturday 16 June 2012

The Community Art Auction Committee invite you to attend the ninth Community Art Auction being held at the Senior School Building, Mount Lawley Senior High School. We hope that you will support the fund raising efforts and local artists by purchasing art works presented during the evening.

There will be a variety of works to choose from including watercolours, pastels, oils, acrylics, photographs and ceramics - all created by talented Western Australian artists. Artists featured this year include:

  • Stormie Mills
  • Pippin Drysdale
  • John Ainsworth
  • Greg Ash
  • Sandy Robertson
  • Peteris Ciemitis
  • Deborah Bonar
  • John Cartwright
  • Felicity Siverwright
  • Miles Noel

The art works can be viewed from 5.00pm with the auction commencing at 7.00pm sharp. The Director of the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, Amy Barrett-Lennard, will open the event and Russell Goodrick will be our MC for the evening. A music ensemble of our talented students will welcome everyone during the preview, and there will be an exhibition of students' work.

Parking is available on the school oval via Bradford and Learoyd Streets near ECU. Guides will be on hand to direct you to the venue. There will be drinks available to purchase and finger food will be provided. Raffles will be conducted during the evening and you're welcome to choose your favourite in the our Peoples' Choice Award. EFTPOS and Credit card facilities will be available.

This event is being organised by our active parent groups for the Music and the Specialist Visual and Performing Arts (SVAPA) programs. It is the major fundraising event for these groups in 2012 and all monies raised will help send our gifted students on study and cultural exchange tours, fund workshops and excursions and purchase equipment.

Please find enclosed a flyer advertising this event. More information and a preview of the works that will be available for purchase during the auction can be found at www.lawleyevents.com.

We look forward to seeing you there.
